Je m'appelle was created in 1994 by Stuart Brampton who has studied French in Britain, France and Quebec and is a member of the Institute of Linguists. In 1995 for Je m'appelle, he won the Ealing Chamber of Commerce - New Business Award sponsored by Midland Bank. |

By January 2000, more than five thousand primary school children had attended clubs run by Je m'appelle. Many of those have moved on to secondary school where they have realised the head-start they have been given.
